Adams 14 includes Commerce City, parts of Thornton and unincorporated Adams County and serves a total population of about 33,000. It is an excellent community in which to live and work.

The quality of life in Commerce City is enhanced by the city's first 18-hole championship golf course and an expanded recreation center offering programs for all ages. Commerce City has more than 300 acres of parks, playgrounds and sports fields throughout the city as well as a modern library. It is only minutes from metropolitan Denver, which offers many cultural and sports amenities for Adams 14 students.

An excellent police department actively preserves and delivers a feeling of safety and security and a volunteer fire department is on call at any time to provide quality fire prevention and services. Adams 14 and Commerce City Police Department have a strong partnership that provides School Resource Officers - a safety support for our schools.

In addition, one of the largest urban wildlife refuges in the United States, the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, is a valuable natural resource within the school district boundaries. In fact, our new state-of-the-art high school and community college opened in 2009 on a site adjacent to a wild American bison range.

Adams 14 enhances the quality of life in Commerce City by providing a strong sense of community and an excellent school system. It's not common to find such a community in the middle of a metropolitan area. It is a small town. A real town. Welcome!
