Walt joined Team Adams 14 as its General Counsel in May 2013, bringing with him 21 years of legal experience, and a strong commitment to our students, public education and social justice.
Walt most recently served as Chief Deputy General Counsel at Denver Public Schools (DPS), where he focused his practice on employment matters and issues related to DPS' English Language Acquisition program. Prior to that, Walt practiced law in the private sector in Detroit, Michigan.
With the rest of the Team Adams 14 leadership, Walt shares in the excitement and -- in the words of Dr. Martin Luther King, "fierce urgency of now"-- in moving Adams 14 "from worst to first." His approach to the practice of law on behalf of our district involves creative problem solving, and steadfast protection of and advocacy for our students and our district.
Walt graduated from Villanova University, majoring in Political Science, and with a minor in Philosophy. He received his law degree from Rutgers School of Law-Camden, where he graduated cum laude.
While not at work, Walt enjoys gardening, wildlife photography, reading, health and fitness, hiking, and spending time with his wife and his beloved Golden Retriever rescue.
